The latest in sit-stand desking is here.
The Augment Ratio height-adjustable desk enables a smooth transition between sitting and standing, in a package that manages to be visually striking while not sacrificing on ergonomic benefits.
From the design minds at Herman Miller, and available in Australia through #SID17 sponsors Living Edge, the Augment Ratio lets users can vary their posture as they need, to find the right balance between sitting and standing throughout the workday.
The Augment Ratio continues Herman Miller’s record of innovative design for the office – with its clean lines and lightweight design, Augment Ratio has been designed to blend into the contemporary office environment, or home work space. Available in both single and back-to-back desk options, with the latter allowing for clusters of desks, it also comes with two kinds of electric height adjustment designs. This means a user can adjust their desk to exactly the right height for their needs at the touch of a button. Manual height adjustment for fine tuning or one off use, is also naturally available.
There are a number of different screen options for Augment Ratio, depending on the configuration of the workspace. When the optional screen is used in standalone format, it moves up and down simultaneously as the desk moves, while in back-to-back formation, the screen remains in fixed position between the two desks.
"Research has shown us that the average worker spends between three and eight hours a day at their desk, and a sedentary lifestyle can increase our risk of diabetes, obesity, heart disease and some kinds of cancer," says Herman Miller Senior Ergonomist Lillian Antonio, "Height-adjustable desks support moving from one posture to another throughout the day, which we know is beneficial to our health"
