How does the event work?>

On Friday 12 August and Saturday 13 August, Melbourne Indesign (MID) will offer more than 7,000 architects, interior designers, specifiers, design students, industry professionals, project developers, and design hunters two new, complimentary ways to connect with the industry.

Friday marks the debut of an incredible selection of industry talks, workshops and architecture tours, jam-packed into a 12 hour program. These timed and ticketed events will allow you to choose the experiences you’re interested in – for a day of design tailored perfectly for you.

Friday night will see the introduction of “Up Late” to Melbourne, where showrooms in the CBD only (!) will extend their business hours to provide a bit of late night entertainment - consider it the official warm up to Saturday!

The following day will see MID return to its Saturday Indesign roots in Richmond and Collingwood – decreasing the geographic foot print and making it easier for you to navigate the event.

Installations (part of our ongoing collaboration series The Project), catering and sensory delights will transform each showroom and tell the brands’ stories in their unique spaces.

How do I get around?>

Walkable design trails in Collingwood and Richmond are an easy way of navigating the event on Saturday. In addition to walking trails, our free Indesign shuttle buses will be travelling between each precinct on the day, all day.

For those coming out on Friday night for Up Late, we will have a designated design trail to take you around the CBD precinct to visit all participating showroom.

All design trails and bus routes will be available through the visitor’s app and handbook, available to visitors during the event after registration.
