This year for 2016 Melbourne Indesign, we’ve become night-owls partying it up across the city’s top design hot spots for Up-Late Indesign – an exclusive Friday evening bar hop between an especially curated collection of Melbourne’s cultural landmarks, design dynamos and fashion brands.
Teaming up with District, Hub Furniture, the National Gallery of Victoria, Zenith and COS, MID16’s Up-Late Indesign program brings the CBD alive with a series of exclusive one-night-only experiences to kick off your weekend of all-things-design!
District is opening the doors to their 20 Russell street showroom to the public for the first time, exclusively for Melbourne Indesign visitors, while Hub showcases the latest in their range and launch their Design Speed Dating program, giving a lucky few the opportunity to spend time with design powerhouse Patrizia Moroso, and Zenith heat up the winter night with their new collection of All Sorts lounge and ottomans, matched with winter drinks. We love Zenith Interior’s fantastic range of workplace solutions. For Up-Late Indesign they are offering the chance to win one of their super-in-demand All Sorts Loungers. Make sure you do not miss. Pre-register now to get warm and cosy!
Set some time aside to acquaint yourself with the movement for authenticity in Australian design. The Authentic Design Alliance will be presenting two seminars that cover solutions that plague the Australian A+D community: theft, intellectual property, and the profiteering interference that can result from the role of the internet in the design market. Held across both days, check out ‘They Stole My Design TM’ on Friday at 3:00pm at Gent Factory in Cremorne, Richmond. If you miss out, don’t fret because you can head down on Saturday to Pioneer at 5 Easey Street, Collingwood, to catch the second-run.
Join us at the NGV for an exclusive preview for Melbourne Indesign of Glenn Murcutt, An Architecture of Faith exhibition. Curator Melbourne Indesign Ambassador Simone LeAmon will personally walk you through this exciting exploration of Murcutt’s Australian Islamic Centre project at Hobsons Bay, Melbourne.
But don’t wind down too much – the party only just started! On Saturday August 13, Melbourne Indesign 2016 is bringing back the industry’s most anticipated hoedown: the Melbourne Indesign Wrap Party.
Designed by SJB, Harry the Hirer’s recently unveiled showroom will host this very important party where you can rub shoulders with A&D’s most iconic players, all thanks to our sponsors Sunbrella, Sharp & Carter, and Eness.
Let’s party hard and make some memories.
