A Ute filled with a few army tents about 35 years ago, drove around from backyard to backyard for the tents to be popped up; I guess you could say Harry the hirer was an early adopter of the pop up!
With the growth of events in Australia, professional partier Harry the Hirer has grown. The pop up marquees over the boots of cars at the Melbourne Cup car parks has now become the Birdcage; which Harry’s still builds today from the ground up, with state of the art structures, some two and three stories high.
Designer furniture has become more of a focus in Harry the hirer’s inventory for hire, over the past years. Buying from Italy, Spain, USA and Asia, having unique custom made pieces and progressive designs that are seen at the most high profile events in the world. This includes the Australian Grand Prix, Taste Festival, Caulfield Cup and Australian Open Tennis amongst many others.
We’re very excited to have Harry the Hirer throwing the official Indesign Wrap Party to show off what they do (tickets are still on sale). Harry the Hirer is transforming their new showroom, designed by Lilijana Gazevic from SJB, into a full blown dance party, with lighting, rigging, LED screens, antique globe installations in a chill out lounge and a Speak Easy jazz bar, hidden out the back down a glass, back lit tunnel.
You can still drive into Harry the hirer’s Richmond warehouse and pick up a few wine glasses for hire, but this hire company is much more than that. More like a major production company for events; a real departure from the early days of the Ute with some pop up tents.
